When it comes to skincare and body products, I find there's often a trade-off between what smells and feels nice, vs what actually works. Why can't products just be perfect?

PRODUCT LAUNCH & GIVEAWAY: Dove Purely Pampering Nourishing Body Oil

Did you get to check out the awesome Beauty Project run by Selfridges last month? I loved the concept! The Beauty Project is meant to celebrate all definitions of beauty, via a series of events, special products, debates and workshops which were hosted by experts, visionaries and the cream of the creative crop.

It's so interesting when you really think about how we view 'beauty' and being comfortable in your own skin - it's a topic that we should really talk about more!

Today is something a bit different - no beauty review or fashion finance. Today I'm sharing some YouTube videos from The Beauty Project... and trust me, they're something slightly different - I never thought I'd enjoy them as much as I did!

Rethinking Beauty Confidence with Dove at the Selfridges Beauty Project

The other week I was invited to the launch of the latest Dove deodorant. Anti-perspirant is meant to help us, but I know I've had my fair share with nightmare products!

A lot of products I've tried either are too powdery, crumbling to bits during the course of the day, OR too strong - like a fine layer of snow has settled under my arms. Boo.

The new Dove Invisible Dry deodorant range is proven to leave no marks on 100 colours. Yes, a HUNDRED colours. Can you even think of hundred colours?! How do they even do that?

Read on for undeniable picture evidence, a competition - oh, and the best macarons ever!

Held in a beautiful West London hotel suite, there was a feast of colourful clothes and treats to go with the 100 colours theme.

A New Meaning To Colour Care: Dove Invisible Dry Product Launch

Heat styling, Hair colouring and Backcombing are like the three horsemen of the Hair Apocalypse to me. And when it comes to judgement time, I bet my hair will be pronounced by the Beauty Gods as an over processed, split-ended mess. Oh noes. But is there anything I can do to prevent the end of my hair as I know it?

PERHAPS. Today I'm seeking penance in the name of Dove Intensive Repair Self Warming Mask which is designed to strengthen and revive damaged hair from the inside out. Billed as 'the hair hero we've been waiting for', it uses heat to restore shine and gloss and is meant to leave hair up to TEN times more resilient against future damage. Ten times!

I was lucky enough to be sent the Intensive Repair Mask to try but was it a hair hero........or a hair zero?

First Thoughts.

Undo The Damage: Dove Intensive Repair Self Warming Hair Mask

We spend all this time applying lotions and potions to our face but so many people forget about their hair. No matter how sh-mazing your hairstyle is, if your hair is badly conditioned it will just undo all the work you've done so far - but it's very easily resolved!

Cold weather and central heating, not to mention ultra-max GHD use for all those Xmas parties has led my hair having split ends and coarse tips. Yuck.

Fortunately for those in my position, the product range out there for damaged hair is rapidly growing. Nourishing masks, sprays and oils can all be applied to wet hair, either after shampooing or after your shower, and now dry hair is getting a slice of the action too!

Hair Masks

Cream masks are all over the commercial market - you apply these after shampooing and leave for 5 minutes to allow the mask to penetrate the hair. I find these the easiest to use mainly cos they're there in the shower as a constant reminder and I just apply them everytime I wash my hair. Voila.

I'm currently using L'Oreal Everpure Colour Care Intense Mask. It's a very unique smell - Rosemary and Mint - and I actually quite like it in a bizarre aren't-these-herbs-for-eating sort of way. This is part of the Sulphate-Free range released by L'Oreal and is basically a sort-of Organic range.

Sulphates are suspected to cause frizzing and are meant to be more damaging to coloured hair. BOO! Get rid? In my eyes, the less chemicals in it, the better - assuming that they haven't replaced the chemicals with something else naughty!
