Before I went through this whole holiday/move flat double combo, I went to a great event with Vichy. Instagram friends will have probably spotted it alll over my feed but here's the real down-low on what happened.
Vichy has been high on my beauty radar for a while now but especially their Normaderm range as it's for oily and combination oily skin. ie. IT'S MADE FOR ME.
This launch event was to mark the incoming of the latest VICHY Normaderm product - the Night Detox cream. Held in the Ham Yard Hotel in Soho, there was a cinema screening, lovely cocktails and a whole host of fun canapes..
I ended up with three VICHY products to test - the new Night Detox cream, the Normaderm moisturiser and the Normaderm 3-in-1 cleanser - how did I get on with them?
Read on to see what happened at the event

There's always that one elusive product that you've been meaning to try for aaages but you somehow never get round to.
Everytime you remember and go to the shop, it's out of stock. Then you see an advert on TV or hear someone talking about it - so you head to your nearest beauty dealer and wait... the shop doesn't sell it.

For me, that annoyingly unobtainable product was this. The Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer.
I've been meaning to buy this for 6 months now and I couldn't find it anywhere which is a lot to say for someone who passes four Boots and a Superdrug every day - twice (yes, I am sooo strong, I know)
Before I bought this Hydration Primer, I didn't really use primer every day. It's an extra step to my routine, it makes my skin feel a bit clogged and most of the time, I just couldn't be bothered!
I know you know the feeling..

I finally got it! The Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer
I was never really into liquid foundation. Despite the great coverage of liquid foundation, I was paranoid it would clog up my skin so I used mineral powder foundation which was meant to be better for the teenage explosions on my face. However, now that the golden days of puberty are long behind – I’ve started to experiment with foundations a bit more....
I've spent a lot of time getting acquainted with a variety of types - I found cream-to-powder too heavy, stick foundations too thick and mousse foundations too drying. Mineral powder foundation was a lovely middle ground, but only helped with coverage and coverage is only one of many many cosmetic concerns.

For those of you with normal/combination oily skin, you may have met our pal, MR SHINE. He starts on your nose, then works his shiny way around your t-zone and will always turn up uninvited in any photos of you taken with the flash on. Thanks Mr Shine.
To be fair, there are a whoooole load of products out there that address this but a lot of them are either a) terrible or b) really bloody terrible. I’ve been through mousse foundations, primers, mattify this, oil free that and, honestly, nothing has come close to the anti-shine effect of this foundation.
