London Fashion Week: Top 5 Products For Your LFW Look

Did everyone have a good bank holiday? The weather has been absolutely fab and the Notting Hill Carnival had everyone in great spirits. On the other hand, strong sunshine and strong booze has done nothing for my skin. And don't get me started on it's evil associates - Junk food, Late Nights and Not Enough Water. BOO.

But I've got something to help conceal all manner of skin sins. And of course, I'm hitting these spots hard with a big-hitting beauty brand. It's the Even Better Concealer by Clinique.

Tomorrow morning I'll be using this concealer because it gives moderate to full to VERY FULL coverage. Perfect for the-morning-after-the-night-before y'know?

WARNING. This post contains some horrendous skin sins being concealed! ^_^

Hiding the bank holiday hangover with Clinique Even Better Concealer.

I'm sad to say that my spell of clear skin has come to an end. What? This isn't meant to happen? I'm like a REAL adult now! Surely it's meant to get better from here?

Unfortunately as I said farewell to the up and down hormones of puberty, I said HIYA to the 4 horsemen of the skin-hating Apocalypse. Alcohol, Stress, Processed Food and Going OutOut.

The days of wearing just BB cream and a smile are no longer enough. Heavy duty foundation is required!

If the years since puberty have even taught me anything, it's that the right foundation for me is about three things :

  • Colour
  • Formulation
  • Lasting ability

Does it look natural? Is the coverage heavy enough? Does the finish feel comfortable?  Will it have disappeared or changed colour by noon? So much choice and SO MANY FACTORS TO CONSIDER.

Thankfully my innate money-saving sixth sense (aka being well tight with my pennies) has taught me that try before you buy is king.

You gotta kiss a lot of frogs before you find the handsome prince! So on that theme  - here's a round up of the foundations I've been testing before committing to that big spend.... READ ON DEAR READER!

Solid Foundations: Building my base with YSL, NARS, Bourjois & Clinique

What did you guys get up to Easter Weekend? The majority of mine was a blur of scoffing chocolate and singing Lord Of The Dance but there was one little day of note amongst the four...

It shall forever be known as 'The day I  went to Bicester and bought lots of things'

Bicester Village Michael Kors Clinique

I'm sure many of you are noooo stranger to Bicester but for those who are yet to see the light, Bicester Village is this outlet shopping centre in the middle of the Oxfordshire countryside. It sells big name branded goods for discounted prices - what's not to love?

My favourite store there is The Cosmetics Company Store which sells high end cosmetic brands like MAC, Bobbi Brown and Estée Lauder - for cheaper.... naturally I decided to pop in and BUY STUFF.

Easter Haul : The Day I Went To Bicester Village

I was never really into liquid foundation. Despite the great coverage of liquid foundation, I was paranoid it would clog up my skin so I used mineral powder foundation which was meant to be better for the teenage explosions on my face. However, now that the golden days of puberty are long behind – I’ve started to experiment with foundations a bit more....

I've spent a lot of time getting acquainted with a variety of types - I found cream-to-powder too heavy, stick foundations too thick and mousse foundations too drying. Mineral powder foundation was a lovely middle ground, but only helped with coverage and coverage is only one of many many cosmetic concerns.

For those of you with normal/combination oily skin, you may have met our pal, MR SHINE. He starts on your nose, then works his shiny way around your t-zone and will always turn up uninvited in any photos of you taken with the flash on. Thanks Mr Shine.

To be fair, there are a whoooole load of products out there that address this but a lot of them are either a) terrible or b) really bloody terrible. I’ve been through mousse foundations, primers, mattify this, oil free that and, honestly, nothing has come close to the anti-shine effect of this foundation.
