Another year over and tonight is most infamous of them all - yes my friends, New Year's Eve is upon us again!
No doubt you've all got fabulous plans. If you've read My Very Chinese Christmas, it will be of little surprise that tonight Matthew, I will be cooking up a fantastic 3 course meal .. all whilst superbly over dressed.

New Year's Eve Outfit : Cheap & Chic Floral Co-Ords
Hi team! A quick 'What I Wore To Work' from me today - mainly because I bought this dress and these shoes and I couldn't wait to show you!!
How hard is it dressing for this weather?! Not quite warm enough for no-jacket but too warm for your coat.
A duster coat is the perfect answer to that and today's dress is a lovely silky find, in a wintery print. Proof that you CAN wear print to work and still look quite corporate.
Duster Coat & Cube Print Dress by F&F
The standout piece of today's outfit is this amazing printed dress from F&F. I wore the white version to London Fashion Week and immediately knew I had to get the other colour too!

| My LFW White Version! |
It feels so much more expensive than it actually is - it feels like a dress from Cos, a lovely silky but sturdy material. Totally worth the £15 I paid for it during the recent F&F 25% off weekend! I love a good bargain!
I love the coloured print - it's smart, it's modern and you can also wear this dress with black tights when it gets colder. The perfect Autumn to Winter transition!
Before we get to the pictures, I just want to make zero apologies for the obvious attempt to photoshop out my life (aka my cluttered bedroom floor). I've spared you the horror..
I've teamed the dress with this textured black duster coat which I swear - goes with EVERYTHING. AND - if I'm not excited enough - it has HUGE POCKETS which fit everything I need in it! (phone, cards, oyster, keys, lipgloss)
Seriously, whenever I can't be bothered to carry a bag, I'll just wear this duster coat. P-L-A-N.
Anyway, less exciting but equally lovely are my new tassle leather shoes from &Other Stories. I bought them on a 50% off at Vogue Fashion's Night Out. They're not my usual cup of tea (possibly a bit too out-there for me) but I just thought they were really really nice and great quality. Oh god, I sound like my mum - GOOD QUALITY LEATHER, GOOD BARGAIN - it's like buying ugly shoes in Clarks again back in the 90s. (without the awesome foot measuring machine!)
So there we go - a quick look at today's outfit. What do you think?
And how awesome was the foot measuring machine at Clarks?!?!

What I Wore To Work Wednesday: Autumn Blues
I went to the #bloggersfestival event last weekend so it was a very busy Instagram and Twitter day on Saturday. What do you expect when a large group of bloggers come together? It's like some sort of cardinal rule - when THIS many bloggers are in the same room, Instagram-hysteria happens..
This week is going far too quickly - I'm nowhere near prepared for London Fashion Week so today is going to be a short one! As a little What I Wore special, I thought I'd show you a quick look at my outfit that day and a glimpse of what went down at #bloggersfestival...

What I Wore... to bloggersfestival!
Happy Wednesday team! Today see's the first fashion post shot from my new flat! No longer do you have to look at my wardrobe door in the background, you now get to see... my bedroom door! What can I say, some things never change - until I can teach Mr FV how to use the half press focus on the shutter.
Today, as a suit alternative, I bring you smart separates. Yes yes, at the end of the day, smart separates is really a suit so WHERE'S THE TWIST?
I've gone for a relaxed spin and a splash of colour, but enough to stay within the formality of the business casual dress code (aka the world's most vague dress code).
Check it out and let me know what you think!

A little snapshot of what's to come, I've paired my favourite burgundy crop blazer (as featured in my Not So Masculine Tailoring post) with classic skinny cigarette pants from Zara.
Chuck in the bag of my DREAMS plus some wear-everywhere heels and you've got today's outfit. Here are the full pictures.

So normally Wednesday is my What I Wore To Work special but today is going to be a bit more of a What I Bought From Work!
Long story short, due to poor advance planning and some ridiculously long wait-times from Sky there is no TV in the new flat. As I sat here consoling myself with a bit of online shopping, I thought, why not kill two birds with one stone and do a little blog post too?
Today's bank balance body-slam is courtesy of my employers, F&F. It's a weird cycle where they pay me and I immediately empty most of my money back into shpoping the site. I know you know what I mean! Very circle of life, like in the Lion King. (we become the grass, and the antelope eat the grass - classic Mufasa speech)
Anyway, enough of my trip back to the 90's - I've rustled up a little summer style collage to showcase my pics and inspire your retail rush today..
Feast your eyes on this! A bountiful collection of prints, florals and textures - can you believe that you can buy these from ONLY £6?
Let's take a closer look, shall we?

What I Bought From Work: My F&F Summer Style Picks
It's happening! Following my new job and my impending flat move, I have decided that I am going to start my OFFICIAL grown up life - aka time to start acting your age Zoe!
This basically means stop hoarding things, start planning meals, spend my money more wisely, blah blah blah. It's basically every new years resolution I ever had and failed at.
As I start thinking about the impossible task of packing and moving my gigantic collection of clothes, I've decided I need to also change my shopping habits/habit - I am physically running out of space.
Therefore - light bulb moment- from now onwards, I've decided to BUY LESS.... but buy nicer, higher quality, investment pieces. (and maybe bin something. Maybe)
This very ridiculous reasoning is exactly why, although I never used to shop at Hobbs, I can now justify it! (On the condition that it's in the sale, and if I can wear it for work AND leisure)
Well, today's pair of shoes ticks ALL the boxes. Soft Leather. Work and Leisure. Utterly beautiful. HELLO NEW GROWN UP LIFE!!
When it comes to my work style, I'm a big fan of pretty, but strong, looks.
As you may have seen from my previous What I Wore To Work Wednesday's, I especially like a twist on mens tailoring so when I saw these boyish brogues from Hobbs, I just HAD to have them!

A dark mood is upon me. Partly due to the come-down from the bank holiday weekend but mostly down to the fact that the rain has returned. Oh yeah, and Film4 has been showing Twilight films all weekend. That too.
I always find myself choosing clothes in line with my mood and today I've gone for some sort of "minimalist gothic grumpus". Yes, today HAS been a grumpy day - I've been walking to the tube every day this week in that type of rain which isn't enough to justify an umbrella but is enough to seriously get on my grill - weak rain is the despair of all glasses wearing girls out there!
I'm mourning the lack of summer sun but all over black can be quite severe. Today's dress has a flash of burgundy to help to break up the black and add a bit of shape to what is, essentially, a large sack. (albeit a very comfortable one)
Dress by New Look
Necklace: Primark
This long sleeved dress is a great choice for work because it covers up enough skin whilst still looking stylish. The shape is perfect for swishing around the office and still looks very smart with tights or bare legged.
The loose shape means that it's INCREDIBLY comfortable, but it still retains an expensive, modern edge because of the block colour and the crepe material. It's not normally something I'd go for but.... the price! THE PRICE!
How much was the dress?

Wednesday is here! How has your week been going? We're halfway there, the weekend is almost in sight! Here's another What I Wore To Work to keep your style radar going. Today's theme is Print ON Print ON Print. That's right Mathletes, I'm doing Print CUBED.
Global and tribal prints were seen all over the SS14 catwalks and for me, that means the return of my favourite - the snake print!
Ever classy and easily wearable, when used correctly, snake print can add a touch of expensive elegance to an otherwise all-Primark outfit. Today, I've loaded up a snake print top, with a snake print handbag and some snake print slingbacks.
On paper it sounds AWFUL right?! Way too matchy matchy and quite frankly, tackier than a pleather catsuit in Vegas. But before you make your mind up, take a look at the photos and let me know what you think!
Blazer: Forever 21
Wrap Top: H&M
Black Trousers: Zara
Slingbacks: H&M

Following my special What I Wore To The Weddings last week, I'm back to the corporate grind and bringing you another workwear special!
Normally, I prefer some sort of fancy shirt, slim trouser combination but now that the weather is warming up (please please please please!) I've started cracking out the skirts and skin! That's right - I'm actually braving the elements WITHOUT my trusty black tights!
Today's work outfit is a sheer tartan blouse paired with my favourite royal blue pencil skirt. Armed with my new Ralph Lauren bag in tow, this is a lady-like and elegant look which brings a splash of creative, yet careful, colour to the office.

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you won’t have
failed to spot my constant WEDDING FEED last weekend.
First of all - sorry for flooding your feed. Second of all - thanks for all those that
sent me congrats but it wasn’t MY wedding (awkward). A friend of mine was
getting married in The City of London.
Getting married in 'The City' is a lovely idea – I always assumed I’d
want to get married in a country house or picturesque chapel somewhere but I actually really like the idea of getting married amongst the skyscrapers, historic
landmarks and glass buildings which make up the heart of London.
Anyway, enough about my future-but-not-anytime-soon-wedding (at least that’s what I’ll tell Mr FV so he doesn’t
freeeak out on me) – let’s bring the focus back to the wedding I DID go to....
Normally I write a “What I Wore To Work Wednesday” post on
Wednesdays (surprise) but I figured, hey, a wedding doesn’t come up that often.
So today, it’s a special edition of “What I Wore To The Wedding Wednesday”. What a treat you guys are in for!
F&F Shift Dress £35
Therapy Quilted Chain Bag £25
Cream Patent Heels from Hong Kong £7
I personally like to change up my outfits, I try not to wear
the same dress again and again, so it doesn’t make sense for me to invest in a
lovely dress which is over £100. Face Value frequent readers will have
realised, I is allllllll about the quantity, not quality.

'What I Wore To The Wedding' Wednesday: Supermarket Style
One of the big challenges when it comes to dressing for work is dressing smart, whilst keeping your own sense of style. A great way to show a bit of your personality is by showing what's under your blazer. Hold the phone - I'm obviously talking about the top you're wearing underneath.
In the City, every other workwear outfit involves a plain, boring shirt underneath the jacket. Don't get me wrong, a crisp white shirt can sometimes be the absolute bees knees when it comes to looking smart in that sexy Parisian, minimalist way but there are lots of other options other than a shirt.
I'm talking pretty patterns, decorative collars, metal finishes, luxe fabrics - ANYTHING THAT ISN'T WHITE! I sometimes think that life would be easier if we could just wear a uniform but of course, it wouldn't be as fun right? To make your shopping inspiration more easy, I've picked some examples to show you.
In the absence of any time to take any actual photos of myself, I've chosen the five shirts which caught my eye this week.
Seen any you like? Scroll down for more info on the fab five!

What I Wore To Work Wednesday: Alternatives To A Smart Shirt
For a corporate office, a lot of people steer away from print. Print is for arty creatives, and we're just accountants so really our colour scheme should be black, white and grey right? Right?
WRONG. Our colour scheme is actually black, white, grey AND navy. Lolz, I'm just chatting rubbish of course but there IS a distinct lack of print in the office. You might get an occasional print dress in the summer, a decent print tie or a jazzy silk scarf but bright print is pretty much non-existent at the office.
Why is that? Well, for most of my friends, prints come across too casual and too loud. I'm inclined to agree - but with the right clothes and the right stylin', even a cool Katie Eary print can look right at home in an accountancy firm.
For reals? For reals. Let's check out today's outfit.
Today I'm wearing a Katie Eary print t-shirt which was released in conjunction with the new Clique magazine. (If you haven't already signed up to the free, shoppable Clique magazine, GET ON IT, it's fab. You can buy everything you see just by scanning it with your phone!)

Today I'm toting a lovely little Lauren by Ralph Lauren number which I picked up whilst on holiday. The keen eyed among you may recognise it from my New York holiday post, I picked it up from Macys - a new York institution!!
I'd spent all holiday looking for something special to buy myself for Christmas and as soon as I saw this bag, I knew it was the one. The soft tan leather! That little leather bow! It had to be mine...
Bag lust - begin!
This is the Lauren by Ralph Lauren Dundee Convertible Satchel. On first glance this bag is absolutely stunning - elegant yet modern, it's the perfect handbag for both work and weekend.
What am I wearing it with?

As the festive season gets into full swing, the attire in the office is noticeably more casual. Christmas lunch coming up? Business-casual. Christmas drinks after work? Business-casual.
Business-casual is one of those awful dress-codes which tell you almost everything and yet NOTHING at the same time. What does it mean?! Do I have to wear a shirt? Am I allowed to show my arms? Does it have to have a collar?
Here's my take on the infamous B-C. And I'm doing it, like a dude, with a men's grey marl t-shirt and a long-line boyfriend fit blazer.

One week of December done, three office Xmas lunches demolished, two festive parties attended and I am officially IN THE MOOD for Christmas. Where's the Michael Buble Xmas CD - it's time!
And what better way to liven up the sea of winter black-and-grey in the office than with a festive coloured dress?
Colour is sometimes a tricky decision when it comes to office-wear. Jewel-tones look amazing but going too bold with your business casual can end up with you standing out like a brassy bauble.

So you'll know from my very first "What I Wore To Work" post that the point of WIWTW was to show the fabulous possibilities for work outfits for people who normally stick to a tried and trusted suit..
I've showcased a silk blazer, a jersey dress, a fake tie - a couple of options to wake up your work wardrobe. And today? Well... I seem to have come full circle. Today, I'm showing you a suit. Ah?
But this isn't just any suit- today I'm rocking a "textured, coloured blazer/trouser combo" from Topshop. POW.
Topshop Modern Tailoring Trousers £50
Banana Republic Camisole £19 (not ironed, soz)
In a lovely shade of navy meets oxford blue, it's a refreshing take on the standard City uniform of MIB blazers and matching trousers. (Incidentally, when I was younger I wanted to be an MIB, ahhh Will Smith - he can do no wrong!)

There's no denying it. It's official. We are fully IN Coat Weather now. Shivers are in the air and Christmas stuff is already hitting the shelves. Autumn/Winter is here.
It's no longer enough to wear just a jacket outside - my blazer, cardigan, shirt combo will no longer cut it. Without a coat, I quiver like a shaken jelly once the sun goes down. And that my friends, is naht a good look.

It's no longer enough to wear just a jacket outside - my blazer, cardigan, shirt combo will no longer cut it. Without a coat, I quiver like a shaken jelly once the sun goes down. And that my friends, is naht a good look.
Given that I've spent the past couple of weeks grasping onto the last of summer, I thought it was only sensible that I get a proper winter coat. You know the kind - thick, warm, heavy and comforting. A sensible coat for the winter weather.
And in a classic colour too, so that it can be worn every year. I've got an electric blue coat which I loved to pieces last year, but I'm all for casual, non-committal coat relationships and have gotten a bit bored of now. Soz blue coat. It now lives in the cupboard in the hall, crying for attention every time I get the hoover out. (which incidentally, is very rare.)
So I spent the past few weeks going from shop to shop looking for 'the perfect coat'. It's surprisingly really easy to shop when you only need one thing - this MUST be how men feel!?!

Yah, so I'm bringing some elegance to the office today. Today's little number is what I like to call my "Kate Middleton, Princess In The Office" look.
Knee-length demure blue dress meets leg lengthening nude heels. A ladylike formula that can't go wrong. If its good enough for the Duchess, it's good enough for me!

So in the middle of a heatwave, what do you wear to work? My office isn't really the place for string tops or maxi dresses but the thought of wearing trousers or a tailored dress brings me out in a sweat just thinking about it.
A big sticky hot mess of a sweat.
A big sticky hot mess of a sweat.
In the heat, long sleeve shirts feel like little sauna straight jackets and anything with a lining is immediately stuck to your back or around your legs. Pencil skirts become a Thai jail for your thighs and don't get me started on anything silk (its all ruined!)
So what have I been wearing?
I picked up this lovely dress from Uniqlo the other week. It's part of the Uniqlo x Celia Birtwell collection and mixes that cool Japanese design with Celia's fab prints.
