It's that time of the year again - the credit card comes out, the ridiculous self-justification starts ("I need these shoes because... I HAVE FEET") and the scramble to get a deal leads to you spending an hour glued to your computer, in the hope of saving a few pounds.

Spend to save? My pick of the best Black Friday /Cyber Weekend deals

Despite this bright, London spring weather we've had recently, you may have noticed a bit of a white snow gracing my Instagram. Yep, I popped over to Switzerland for a weekend with my Zurich-based gal pals and it was GREAT. It was a much needed mini-holiday and it was started in some SERIOUS style at World Duty Free in Heathrow Terminal 5.

Due to the money-saving accountant side of me, stocking up on beauty essentials at Duty Free is a mandatory stop every time I go to the airport. Seriously, it's like going to the cinema and not having popcorn, it's just a must-do right?

Black Friday is here! Another awfully commercialised (yet amazing) shopping event which gives my credit card a severe beating every year.

This year, I've scoured the net for bargains from the usual suspects so save time and read on for the latests deals from Boohoo, Office, ASOS, Feelunique and the likes of the usual online emporiums that always manage to ensnare your hard earned cash...

The Best Black Friday Fashion & Beauty Deals

A dark mood is upon me. Partly due to the come-down from the bank holiday weekend but mostly down to the fact that the rain has returned. Oh yeah, and Film4 has been showing Twilight films all weekend. That too.

I always find myself choosing clothes in line with my mood and today I've gone for some sort of "minimalist gothic grumpus". Yes, today HAS been a grumpy day - I've been walking to the tube every day this week in that type of rain which isn't enough to justify an umbrella but is enough to seriously get on my grill - weak rain is the despair of all glasses wearing girls out there!

I'm mourning the lack of summer sun but all over black can be quite severe. Today's dress has a flash of burgundy to help to break up the black and add a bit of shape to what is, essentially, a large sack. (albeit a very comfortable one)

Dress by New Look
Necklace: Primark

This long sleeved dress is a great choice for work because it covers up enough skin whilst still looking stylish. The shape is perfect for swishing around the office and still looks very smart with tights or bare legged.

The loose shape means that it's INCREDIBLY comfortable, but it still retains an expensive, modern edge because of the block colour and the crepe material. It's not normally something I'd go for but.... the price! THE PRICE!

How much was the dress?

What I Wore To Work: Block Colour Black & Burgundy

SPRING IS HERE! The sun is out, the sky is blue and Nature is blooming everywhere. Last weekend, I went for a little country adventure down in Dorset and it was a perfect time to try out (and photograph) my new Model's Own nail polish.

Bought as part of my 50% off Model's Own Nail Polish haul which I blogged about the other month, this fabulous mint green shade is Apple Pie. A gorgeous pastel green, not only is it perfect for Spring, it's also SCENTED. Yarp, a scented nail polish - best invention ever?

During my trial, I've definitely got some highs and lows to tell you about but first of all - let's take a look at the colour (modelled au naturel amongst Spring's fiiiinest purple crocuses)

Mmm Apple Pie! Model's Own Scented Nail Polish

I love a bargain. I love a discount. So naturally I LOVED the Models Own 50% off discount which was on the other week.

I've been a fan of Models Own nail polishes for a while - you can see my review of Hedonist nail polish and Disco Mix here. The consistencies are just right and the colours are brilliant. Great shades for every occasion and great value at £5 a bottle.

At 50% off, I couldn't help myself. I bought 8 items and for about £20! Bargain bargain bargaiiiiin! (The only downside was that it took about 2 weeks to arrive but I think you might agree....they were totally worth the wait.)

From left to right: Indian Ocean, Tangerine Queen, Coral Glaze Hyper Gel, Lilac Sheen Hyper Gel, Pink Power Lip Stix, Pink Veneer Hyper Gel, Apple Pie Fruit Pastel, Express Dry

What have we got here then?

It's January - the month of resolutions! The month of "I shalls" and "I wills" and (if you're like me) resolutions to sort out your life! And where best to start than with your finances?

Enter the accountant in me to save the day! This week's Money Monday is going to be to specifically address some common financial goals which we tend to set at new year. Namely SAVE MORE, SPEND LESS, STOP BUYING SHIT I DONT NEED, GET MY 5-A DAY & DRINK MORE WATER. Sound familiar?

Well here are a few tips from your resident beauty blogger accountant, to help you deal with these shouty resolutions. TIME TO SORT OUT MY LIFE.

First up, let's start with the boring one. The one that your parents would tell you to do. The one we all know deep down inside..

MONEY MONDAY: NY Resolution? Get Financially Fit!

Thought you got a buzz from the sales? The adrenaline of scanning the rails of clothes and the feel of a bargain in your hand? Well wait until you go to a sample sale.

Sample sales are used by retailers to get rid of excess stock at reduced prices. They're often limited to a day or two and open to the public - DO you need any more reason to go!?

Historically, the items were the samples which were sent to buyers, presentations and shows but these days, its more likely to be summer stock being cleared out in winter and old lines being cleared.

So last week I attended a REISS sample sale with my pal Charlotte R and, despite the 7:30am queue, it was SO worth it!

It was Charlotte's first time at a sample sale and when telling her my hints and tips it occurred to me to write a post about sample sale etiquette.

I may as well share the knowledge which I have amassed from my days of frantically running around (or crawling around) other sales. Yes, crawling - for reals. Wanna know why? Keep reading.

So previously I've talked about cashback, credit card rewards and various other ways to collect rewards for your normal spending.

I'm a firm fan of getting something back for your spending whether it be through Boots Advantage Card points, 2% cashback from TopCashback or even Airmiles from my monthly spending and today's look at ePoints.com is no different.

What are ePoints?

ePoints.com is basically like an online loyalty scheme where you collect points on purchases you make across the internet. Similar to my Cashback series  "Get Paid To Shop Online", you create an account and access the seller via the ePoints homepage. This then records that you've made a purchase and you get awarded points depending on how much you spend.

How many ePoints could I get?

Up to much this weekend? If you're in London, maybe check out the new TK Maxx store which just opened in Covent Garden.

I popped along to the launch this week, saw Eliza Doolitte (obvs makes us best pals now) and also caught up with a couple of lovely bloggers - shout out to Kimberley, Julie, Joanna and Jaime.

So here's my night in pictures, just a quick little photo post.

New TK Maxx Covent Garden Store

Yah, so I'm bringing some elegance to the office today. Today's little number is what I like to call my "Kate Middleton, Princess In The Office" look.

Knee-length demure blue dress meets leg lengthening nude heels. A ladylike formula that can't go wrong. If its good enough for the Duchess, it's good enough for me!

For those of you who follow my Facebook page, you'll know that I often post discounts and deals on there during the day. (if you haven't liked me page yet, what are you waiting for?)

Lucky fans today would have been informed that yes, that time of the year was here - the Nails Inc Lucky Dip is happening!!

For those saying 'Nails Inc lucky Dip? I must know more!!" - alriiiighty then!  (Jim Carrey style obvs - if you don't know he is, GET TO KNOW)

Nail Inc Lucky Dip is an offer that Nails Inc run once in a while where you can get 7 of their fab nail polishes for only £18.

Given that the bottles normally retail at £11, this is a noted BARGAIN. The only difference is that it's a lucky dip so you don't get to choose your colours.

Some like the thrill of the surprise, I personally worry about getting horrid colours.

But I did it anyway. Keep reading cos here's what I got!!

Money Monday! A little treat for your purses AND your tummies today. It's something that I signed up for ages ago but no one really seems to know about.

Do you ever take the train? Do you like to EAT? The majority of answers I'm hoping should be yes. Anyone who doesn't like to eat will probably be highly offended by my Instagram..

Picture this.

You're at Euston station about to hop on a Virgin Pendolino to Birmingham and you're starving. So many options to choose from to satisfy your hunger - a Whopper from Burger King, one of those delightful ham & cheese croissants from Delice de France - maybe even a gooey chewy cookie from Millies Cookies?

Poison of choice selected, you go to pay and BOOM. Have 20% off. Taa.

How? Get a Bite Card.

Bite what? The Bite Card is a discount card which gets you 20% off at food outlets in UK Network Rail stations. There's no annual charge and it's free to sign up!

A lot of my friends ask me how to save more money - other than physically squirrelling away more cash, it's lots of small actions like this which add up in the long run.

Saving a pound off a Whopper Meal doesn't sound like much, but if you're a weekly Whopper kind of gal like me - its over £50 a year saved! Whoopee!

To get your Bite Card sent straight to you, sign up at https://www.bitecard.co.uk

Is this something you could use? Do you already own a BITE card? Aren't the ham and cheese croissants from Delice de France amazing?!
