When it comes to shopping for beauty products, I’m not fussy. Being an accountant, I tend to go with wherever has the best deal or offer and today’s post is no different.

In celebration of the 5th birthday of the SuperDrug Health and Beauty card, Superdrug have got a huge 5th Birthday promotion going on and they've kindly awarded me with some points to spend on beauty essentials.
Although I’ve been a loyal Boots Advantage card holder for practically a decade, what I love about the Superdrug card is that you can actually use the points to PART-pay for something, unlike Boots where you have to buy the whole transaction with points. I also like the fact that my health and beauty card has a mirror on it – what can I say, I love a gimmick!

Blimey, no YouTube videos in a while and then suddenly two at once! So last week I vlogged about my new Charlotte Tilbury makeup tips and this week? It's all about how to style shorter hair - like my straight lob!

So, I've not stopped going on about it, but I grabbed my life by the balls in December, got a new job and decided to cut my waist length hair to a long bob. The good news is that I love the new length (you can hear me blabbering on about it when I dyed my dark hair purple on my blog here), but the only downside is that I genuinely feel like I'm back at the starting line when it comes to styling it.

Working Out How To Style Short Hair With The Boots Beauty Box

Oh mannn, packing is a HASSLE isn't it? I'm a fan of always being prepared so, in an ideal world, I'd just bring everything. However, if I was to be REASONABLE for once, I would realise that I have both space and time constraints so I've managed to pick and pack the best of my beauty collection.

That aside, I've still packed the biggest beauty bag ever, so today I'll just run you through the highlights - the ultimate essentials for a week like LFW!

My London Fashion Week Beauty Essentials!

So I bet we all know the score on this one... Here's the scene. You wake up with hair greasier than Danny Zuko in an oil refinery, you realise there’s no time to wash our hair (aka you can’t be bothered) and hey, no biggie…. you just dry shampoo the hell out of it. CLEAN HAIRR, DON’T CARE! Sound familiar anyone?

For me, this is a regular ritual which occurs on a weekly basis – there’s just not enough time in the day to wash and dry my hair every single morning. I’m not Harry Potter you know – the combination of early mornings to work and late nights at after-work drinks,  my mane gets a shampoo clean every 2 days if it’s lucky!

Dry Shampoo has become a necessity in the beauty cabinet of billions of girls out there (*random blatant fact obviously unchecked), and for me Batiste Dry Shampoo has been sitting in that space for absolute years now. I’ve been using the XXL version so religiously, I don’t even remember a time when my hair wasn’t big, poofy and fresh smelling- albeit slightly chalky..

So when I got the chance to try out a new dry shampoo, I was immediately excited. Could it be the next big Batiste?

This is the JOICO Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo. Instant refresh - doesn't it sound so clean!?

Super props for the lovely minimalist looking can - it looks salon quality and expensive, but does it work? Read on..

Instant Clean? JOICO Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo

For those of you who have been following this blog during its first few weeks, you will already know that I'm allll about things BIG.

Get yer minds out the gutter, it's not even the weekend yet - I'm talking big hair, big lashes, big lips- oh, and big bargains and big surprises too.

Ticking at least two of the above is Batiste XXL. God, isn't dry shampoo such a GREAT invention? I am no stranger to dry shampoo given that I am no stranger to laziness and definitely no stranger to the snooze button!

I've been using the Batiste for almost a decade now and it's perfect for those desperate mornings when you're running late and your hair is two slicks and a seagull away from an oil rig. Gross.

And as the range developed, I tried the different fragrances - Blush, Boho, Tropical - all were fab at doing their job but then I discovered XXL and it was like I'd been eating margarine all my life and just discovered butter.

(unrelated note, I friggin LOVE butter)
