As a beauty blogger, I am up to my ears in fun stuff to try, test and review. A special soap for my nose, a speed drier for my brushes, you'd think I have enough to keep me entertained but the beauty junkie in me will always find something else to crave. It genuinely is a bit of an addiction.. I'm definitely in the right business!
February is the month of love and lust and the beauty item I've been lusting after this month is the Pro Blo Curl Me set. The team over at HQHair.com treated me to £50 off my Febrary lust-have and it was an absolute no brainer. Pro Blo, you must be mine!💓💓💓
What is the Pro Blo? It's essentially a barrel brush with detachable barrels. Basically THE blowdry product that I've been waiting years for. The Prince Charming of hair styling.
It's essentially a barrel brush with detachable barrels so you can curl your hair and clip them in like rollers.
To be honest, I'd love to be one of those ladies that gets a regular blowdry at a salon, but frankly it's time consuming and expensive. With the Pro Blo brush, I can now get big, bouncy curls that last all day. Even on my straight hair!
No more will I be getting a round brush stuck in my hair. No longer will my curls be going straight with minutes. The Pro Blo does what it says on the tin - it's a professional blow dry, at home.
Let's see it in action
It's official - I'm in love. My bank balance loves it too as I'm no longer paying for costly salon styling. The only people suffering are all those who can no longer see behind me due to the bounciness of my hair! (Oh yeah, and poor Mr FV who has to deal with me bouncing around on a regular basis - but even he can see a difference though!)
This Pro Blo CURL ME Deluxe edition is available at HQHair for £60. There is also a Pro Blo basic CURL ME set with less barrels for £35 here. Recommend you take a look!
What do YOU think? Do you like salon blowdries or would you rather be able to do them at home? Tweet me your thoughts @FaceValueBlog or send me a comment on Facebook!

So, I've not stopped going on about it, but I grabbed my life by the balls in December, got a new job and decided to cut my waist length hair to a long bob. The good news is that I love the new length (you can hear me blabbering on about it when I dyed my dark hair purple on my blog here), but the only downside is that I genuinely feel like I'm back at the starting line when it comes to styling it.

It's official, I'm getting the chop! Having a haircut is always an ordeal for me – (see "Why I Hate The Hairdresser" for more explanation!) but I've had long hair for soooo long now, I'm just really tempted to get rid of it.
It's heavy, it's damaged, it's just IN MY GRILL, ALL THE FRIGGIN TIME.

YOUTUBE VIDEO: How To Avoid A Haircut Disaster!
The last week or so has gone by in a bit of a blur but I think it's finally become real for me - I'm on TV! Nothing oscar worthy and certainly nothing to log off your Netflix for but yes - for the first and probably last time in my life, I am starring in a TV advert!
At first it was absolutely mortifying to watch myself on TV - especially when in front of other people - but (now I've had a chance to watch it without my hands clutching my face), I've realised how tremendously proud and honoured I feel to have been part of it!
It's funny, when my friends watched the advert they were like - I thought these things were always scripted? Surely the actors are PAID to say good things?? And I have to admit, before I experienced this first-hand, I always assumed that too.
Which is why today, to back up my Pinocchio-esque "but I'm a REAL girl" claims, I've decided to show you a little sneak peek at what went on behind-the-scenes...
Prepare yourselves dear friends cos there ain't no blue screens, background sets or A-listers here. Just plenty of hairnets and fueled-by-Pret poses. Don't say I didn't warn you!!
Watch The Advert
So how did it all begin?

So I bet we all know the score on this one... Here's the scene. You wake up with hair greasier than Danny Zuko in an oil refinery, you realise there’s no time to wash our hair (aka you can’t be bothered) and hey, no biggie…. you just dry shampoo the hell out of it. CLEAN HAIRR, DON’T CARE! Sound familiar anyone?
For me, this is a regular ritual which occurs on a weekly basis – there’s just not enough time in the day to wash and dry my hair every single morning. I’m not Harry Potter you know – the combination of early mornings to work and late nights at after-work drinks, my mane gets a shampoo clean every 2 days if it’s lucky!
Dry Shampoo has become a necessity in the beauty cabinet of billions of girls out there (*random blatant fact obviously unchecked), and for me Batiste Dry Shampoo has been sitting in that space for absolute years now. I’ve been using the XXL version so religiously, I don’t even remember a time when my hair wasn’t big, poofy and fresh smelling- albeit slightly chalky..
So when I got the chance to try out a new dry shampoo, I was immediately excited. Could it be the next big Batiste?
This is the JOICO Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo. Instant refresh - doesn't it sound so clean!?
Super props for the lovely minimalist looking can - it looks salon quality and expensive, but does it work? Read on..

Instant Clean? JOICO Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo
My hair is a bit of a wet rag. It's naturally very boring and straight and I don't do anything to it, it just sits there quietly, a bit like a small, old, dog which is too tired to run around. And no one wants their hair to be described like that do they? We all want finely coiffed poodles, voluptously shaggy Lassie dogs or colourful, silky golden retrievers!
Today's product fits very snugly into this category of "Good Transformational Product" - it's the Structure Beach Texture Spray by Joico. OOOooOOh.
What is this?!

Picture this. It's Saturday afternoon and you're going out-out at 8pm.
It's now 5pm. Do you:
a) Decide to be productive, do useful things and live your life for the next 2 hours?
b) ...Start getting ready?
Any normal person chooses a)
However, any pampered product-obsessive with nothing better to do puts a hair mask on, throws a bath bomb in the tub, puts her hair in rollers and puts a full face on.
And that is what Zoe Dubs did next...

So Saturday's post already covered the Lush bath-time bliss - I'm here to talk about hair. And BIG hair at that.
Let's go back to basics.

Going out-out? Go BIG with Babyliss Heated Rollers and Bumble&bumble
Ever have one of those days where you're in a great mood, ready for anything the world throws at you but your hair is just like "myeh. i'm just gonna chill mate." Cooperation with my hair is never expected to be very good - a bit like my jokes!
As a natural straight-haired gal, I've spent the last 10 years trying to achieve the perfect unrealistic ideal. Curls. Bounce. Texture. Waves.
It's funny how you always want what you don't have isn't it? Whilst all my friends are reaching for the straighteners and the paddle brushes, I'm using GHDs to curl my hair and buckets of hair spray to desperately try and freeze some shape into place.
But all this heat-styling is obviously bad for my hair and I've been looking for a way to add some definition without having to reach for the barrel brush or the tongs.
One of my best pals Katrine (not her real name, we don't really do real names on here do we? It's much more fun and I can avoid a bit of libel) works for Schwarzkopf and always has a got2b stash with her. Having tried this, I then proceeded to take it. "For the purposes of the blog" of course, I'm such a great friend..
It's just a little bit fab, so the least I can do is obviously tell you all about it.
It's this got2b Texturising Salt Spray. Dadaaaah!

| Let's not mention how the spelling of texturising is the WRONG way. |
For mermaid looks? Now I don't know about you, but when I was younger, I definitely wanted to be one of those mermaids that flirt with Peter Pan.

My general motto used to be "cover and conceal" but now, I'm all about getting the basics right. I think its a sign that I'm growing up and becoming more responsible with my beauty routine.. Either that, or I've just got a LOT more time on my hands?
Don't answer that.
I normally spend a lot of money on styling products and not so much on shampoo but I've realised that not caring as much about the shampoo you use is like not caring about the moisturiser you put on your skin. Get your basics right first!

As with different creams and different skin types, there are different shampoos for different hair types and it seems there is a John Frieda range out there for almost everything!
What's in the box??
I was sent the John Frieda Frizz-Ease Straight Ahead Shampoo & Straight Ahead Conditioner. They're designed to tame nightmare frizz whilst aligning the hair for hydrated, straight & frizz-free hair. Tick. Tick. Sounds good! But how was it?

For those of you who have been following this blog during its first few weeks, you will already know that I'm allll about things BIG.
Get yer minds out the gutter, it's not even the weekend yet - I'm talking big hair, big lashes, big lips- oh, and big bargains and big surprises too.
Ticking at least two of the above is Batiste XXL. God, isn't dry shampoo such a GREAT invention? I am no stranger to dry shampoo given that I am no stranger to laziness and definitely no stranger to the snooze button!
I've been using the Batiste for almost a decade now and it's perfect for those desperate mornings when you're running late and your hair is two slicks and a seagull away from an oil rig. Gross.
And as the range developed, I tried the different fragrances - Blush, Boho, Tropical - all were fab at doing their job but then I discovered XXL and it was like I'd been eating margarine all my life and just discovered butter.
(unrelated note, I friggin LOVE butter)
