In case you missed it.... I'm buying a house! Well, can't quite afford a house in London, it's actually a 2 bed flat but still, it's a place of my own. And the best part? I CANT WAIT TO DECORATE! I'm not quite in there yet but I sure am planning everything already.
The lovely team at Flamingo Gifts spotted my "How To Buy A House" blog series on hunting for a house and sent me some beautiful presents which are frankly, perfect housewarming gifts! A house plant just doesnt cut it anymore.

Happy Housewarming To Me From Flamingo Gifts!
Can you believe its the end of September already? Although summer is barely over, the preparations for Christmas are well underway and today a post is a sneak preview of an amazing Benefit Christmas gift set at Boots.
Christmas at Boots has taken on a luxury feel this year. Forget about your Jamies Wok set and novelty oven gloves, this year I'm seeing some fabulous sets from my favourite brands - think Liz Earle, Ciate, Ted Baker and of course - Benefit Cosmetics.

Festive Fun-Size Flirts - Benefit Xmas at Boots
Apologies for a bit of a lapse in blogging this week. I write a lot of my posts in the weekend to be scheduled throughout the week and as you can see there's been nowt since last weekend!
All with good reason of course and that reason is.. GIN.
Now I'm not normally a lifestyle type blog, but I really wanted to shout about the great time I had at The London Gin Club at The Star At Night in Soho.
It was Mr Face Value's birthday and I bought him a gift voucher for a gin tasting menu. Yes, a gin tasting menu. Thankfully not an 8 course monster gin feast - I wouldn't survive the night as I'm the biggest lightweight ever! Fact.
We sampled four different Gins with four different garnishes and the chance to compare them side by side was actually really interesting!
Here's a story - I used to hate gin. I thought it tasted of feet. Now that i'm a 'real' grown up, I have come to embrace my poison but I never really thought of gin having different flavours. Yes, I thought Hendricks was nicer than Gordons but I thought they were all quite similar. Right?
OH HOW I WAS WRONG.
How to 'do a gin tasting'
So basically, you get four gins with different garnishes and two bottles of Fevertree tonic - I remember we had King of Soho, NB Gin, Juniper Green and Williams Great British Gin.
I say 'I remember', I actually mean I took a photo of our menu because hella knows after four gins if I'll remember my name let alone the Gin name.
What next?
You taste the gin straight, then with tonic to see how the flavour changes, and then you add the garnish and taste again. And woweee - they really were so different! I was expecting to be like "yeahhh, that's kinda different... i can kindaa taste the...cucumber? Elderflower?"
For example. Juniper Green was what I imagined 'normal' floral gin to taste like but Williams was fantastically spicy - almost like Christmas in a cup. I had NO idea gin could taste like that!
And then we took it one step further...
The GINVENTOR - that's right. We invented our own gin. How fun does this look?!
What's a ginventor..?
So you get two blank 'base' gins and a load of 'botanical distillates' like pink grapefruit, cardamon and coriander.
Now we knew what gin flavours we liked, we had a go at making our own!
Mr FV ended up with a glorious orange/clovey type gin and tonic and mine.... well.... I'm always a fan of more is more. But I can safely say that coriander, red berries and lime does NOT go. (although I was adamant at the time that my gin was friggin awesome)
So you can buy the Gin Tasting Menus and Ginventor as a gift voucher for your gin-fiend friends or loved ones. Or you can just rock up at The Star At Night and either order from their exteeeensive gin list - or choose a tasting menu to try.
Either way - I fully recommend it for a night out after dinner - or as a date venue - it's definitely something different to do!

Now - to get on with the rest of today.... More blogging coming soon. Maybe.

Boots Christmas - My Top Present Picks!
Ergh, can you believe it? It's October already and I've barely made a dent on any of my new years resolutions. One of which is to get rid of all the junk I collected from last Christmas. You know - gifts for others you forgot to give, presents you didn't really like and sale items that seemed like a good idea at the time...
Bizarrely, I seem to have amassed 4 uneaten christmas puds from last year. Mainly because I hate Christmas pudding and people like to give them to me as Xmas gifts. Why is this?? Is it because everyone secretly hates Christmas puds and we're all just recycling them as gifts to get them away from us? TOP FACT: Christmas Puddings are RUBBISH gifts.
What makes a great gift? Err - prime example - the Lush Christmas 2013 holiday range. Today's blog post provides some fab examples of what would make great gifts for me!
I attended the Lush Christmas preview this week which showcased all the products released for the holiday season. Contenders ready? 3-2-1 start your lusting NOW.
Inspired by British icons like David Bowie and William Morris, the Lush Xmas drop has a great range of adorable themed goodies and pre-boxed gifts.
The good news is, they're all available in store NOW and if you shop online, they ship worldwide. Let's take a look....
