The sun is FINALLY here. BRITISH SUMMERTIME HAS BEGUN. What a shame I am still pasty and pale faced as ever. Not for long though, thanks to the Urban Decay summer collection. A wonderful bundle of goodies landed through my letterbox and in 15 minutes my skin has gone from pale and hungover to bronzed and glowing.
Bronzed and golden has had a bit of a bad rap in the past from the fake-tan, orange oompa-lompa brigade but you'll be pleased to know that these gave me a natural-looking glow in no time at all. I've officially got my summer makeup sorted. Read on and find out which products are transforming my face right now.

Summer Makeup Sorted With Urban Decay Cosmetics
It's been a quiet week on the blog given that I spent three days last week at a glorious hen party for my old housemate. Like most bloggers who have full-time jobs, the weekend is the key time for writing posts and taking photos in good light. However this weekend I spent most of it flying around with the other hens, or curled up under a rock feeling the consequences of cocktails the night before...
There may not have been blogging time but there was plenty of beauty time!! The brides friends from abroad were desperate to stock up on cheaper beauty buys from Boots and I graciously (with manic excitement) volunteered to be their cosmetic collecting companion!

NEW BEAUTY BUYS! My Boots Makeup Haul!
Here's a statement for you: Liquid eyeliner is my all time fave. It's potent, it's precise, it doesn't smudge and it doesn't drag your delicate eye skin. That's a win, win, win in my books!
The range of makeup we have available to us is astounding. Eyeliner alone comes in many formats- pencil, gel, liquid, kohl and eeeven after that, liquid eyeliner comes in more options for you to choose from.
There's the classic brush and pot format, the felt tip and pot, flat tipped applicator, and my favourite - the liquid pen. With so many choices available, is there any difference between them?!

Today I'm going to be looking at three liquid eyeliner pens, all by respected beauty brands - but which one came out on top?

Drawing A Fine Line Between Eyeko, SEVENTEEN & Oriflame Eyeliner Pens.
Gawsh, isn't the weather gorgeous at the moment? Oriflame sure picked the perfect time to launch their new "The ONE" collection - I love me a good event launch, especially when it's on a rooftop and sunny outside! Funny how a little but of sun just makes everything 100 times nicer!
Sunny Soho location aside, there were bubbles, cupcakes and a celebrity make-up artist in the form of the awesome Gary Cockerill! Gary is one of the UK's most respected makeup artists and has worked with beautiful faces like Eva Longoria, Cat Deeley and Rachel Weiss to name but a few! Oh yeah - and David Beckham! (yes, can you believe it? Even Becks needs a good buffing up every now and then!)
Pick & Mix makeup in jars and free bubbles - could this BE any more blissful?
Enough fluff, let's get down to business. I've reviewed Oriflame cosmetics many a time but if you haven't seen them (here, here and HERE )- the general jist is..... I really friggin LOVED them. It's such a shame that Oriflame doesnt have a stronger presence in the UK yet!
There's the amazing Oriflame eyebrow kit which I loved, and also the New Years party face I created with the Eye Pearls and Palladium Shine lipstick...dreamy!
Anyway - without getting distracted by the cakes - let's look at the new stuff! What's the "The ONE" collection all about?

PRODUCT LAUNCH: Oriflame "The One" Collection
It's the New Year Party and what did I wear on my face? (Other than a big boozy smile of course..)
Obviously there was a whoooole load of slap on there, but today I'm going to talk about the look I created using a couple of Oriflame products which were sent my way.
Being a beauty blogger, there's always a bit of a focus on how you wear your makeup. People aren't going to read my beauty blog unless I prove my salt, so let's take a closer look!
MY GIANT FACE COMING UP!!
Da- dahh! The party face! I've been doing a lot of travelling around over the holidays so it's vital that a full-on face like this can be done with as few products as possible.
I've used about 5 products on this face, namely an eyebrow kit, an eyeliner, a lipstick and some shimmer....
And it's easy peasy to do! Wanna know how? Read on..

HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!!
So it's Christmas morning and you want to race downstairs to crack open the Bucks Fizz, start ripping open presents and hug everyone/everything.
But wait. If it's anything like my household, there's going to be cameras and Instagramming and all sorts of need-to-capture-this-moment-forever stuff. And with any sort of photo, your face needs to be prepared!
But you haven't got all morning have you? It's CHRISTMAS after all. But you need to save some face before you head into the fray - what should you do?

But you haven't got all morning have you? It's CHRISTMAS after all. But you need to save some face before you head into the fray - what should you do?
The answer is simple - it's all about the basics. For that dahling-I-just-rolled-out-of-bed-like-this look you need these three things:
1) Definition of your eyes and brows
2) Clear skin
3) Glowing cheeks
And you can do this in ten minutes! How? Here's the detail...

Christmas Morning FOTD - My "I just woke up like this" makeup look
The festive adverts are on TV, the department store Christmas windows have been revealed - I know it's only November but I've decided to embrace the fact that Christmas is just around the corner. Hooray!
Obviously you'll know Christmas is here when the Coca Cola advert is on TV but by then Christmas shopping should be in full flow, much like the mulled wine in my house.
So to help you kick off your preparations, I've selected a few frankly awesome gifts from the Boots Christmas range. You know I love presents! Feel free to pass this page onto your chief present buyer and say "JUST GET ME THESE LOVE, THANKS"
So what have we got here then? These are my top presents that I would want - a real mix of essentials and of course, luxuries. You don't want what you actually need at Xmas do you?
Let's take a closer look...

Eyeliner is one of my most fickle friends in cosmetics. I can't live without it - it's my desert island product. But sometimes, when I need it most, my eyeliner lets me down. Boo YOU eyeliner.
I love kohl for it's intense, blackest black "I am the NIGHT!" effect but a bit of heat, sweat and one accidental eye rub later, boom - it's headed halfway down my cheek, making me look more panda than Prada.
Well what about liquid eyeliner then? Sure, it lasts long and looks insanely black when painted on BUT once dry, some liquid liners they lose that initial sooty black colour payoff and can be prone to flaking.
So what's the answer to this clear first world dilemma you ask? Funny you ask, cos I have JUST THE THING.
L'Oreal 24 Hour Super Liner Gel Intenza Eyeliner.
Another massive mouthful of a product I know, but it does what it says on the tin!

Today it's a cosmetic brand which I'd heard of but not yet tried. Lord & Berry. Doesn't it sound so regal?
Like the responsible blogger I'm trying to be, I did my research, checked out the goods. When I heard Lord & Berry was primarily a fashion-based cosmetics house producing a range of on-trend colours, I was dubious. Cynical almost. HMMMMM. I sometimes find that fashion-based brands focus on the colours and textures but skimp on the quality.
So how did Lord & Berry do?
This week I've been trying the Scuba Waterproof Mascara and the Couture Kohl Kajal Eye pencil.
Again, dubious Zoe Dubs raises her eyebrows. HMMMMM. I've never been a fan of waterproof mascara. Namely because all the ones I've tried have been a poor version of their non waterproof sisters - either too oily, too thin coverage or with a funny smell? Woweee I sound like a right grumpus.

So here it is, my first Face Of The Day post. Except, I'm not doing Face Of The Day, I'm doing Face Of Last Night - because judging by the way last night went, you do nahhhhht wanna see this morning's Face.
For those new to what Face Of The Day is - basically, I upload a makeup look and then discuss it! I'll talk about the products I used, how I applied them plus any FaceValue tips I have - alllllll sprinkled with colourful exclamation marks and lame attempts at being funny. HOORAY.
Right - let's go - my first Face Of The Day...
Quite a typical going out-out look for me - dramatic eyes, defined brows, contouring and a punchy lip - a wholeeee lotta slap to be fair.
So what am I wearing???

Saving Face: My Beauty Solutions To Help Save Your Spending!
Its finally the end of 2012 and what a year it’s been! This blog is officially 8 days old, with a Twitter account, a Facebook page and almost 800 page views! Thanks again to everyone who’s supported it thus far, hope you all have a very special new year.
Now, mushiness aside. TO BUSINESS.
2012: My favourite Beauty buys
For me, 2012 was the year of the eyebrow! This year, I upgraded my entire brow kit, buying an angled 266 brush from Mac, the Benefit Browzings kit (pictured right), and the ELF Treat&Tame Brow gel.
I’m still trying to get the shape right - I tend to alternate between “power brows”, heavy and angular, and my daily brow - an enhancement of my natural brow shape. The Browzings kit comes with two shades to work with, the darker wax helps hold the shape but I only used both powder and wax on a 'power brow' day. Powder alone is great for a natural look. It also comes with mini tweezers and brushes all in a mirrored compact so is perfect for on-the-go and travel times! Definitely a good companion for those of you who find yourself doing your face on the way to work!!
Once I get my Youtube channel sorted, I’ll do an Eyebrow special..
Moving onto the world of haircare, this year for me was all about the FOAM DIY JOB. Normally a home hair dye job is all about avoiding drips on the carpet, but the introduction of the foam has meant I no longer need to cover my carpet with plastic bags and newspaper. Hooray!
It has also meant that the colour distribution is much more even as the foam is much easier to spread with your fingers rather than trying to comb through a liquid dye.
I used to use Schwarzkopf Live XXL in a vibrant red shade - it works really well with stubborn dark hair that refuses to pick up colour. I used it for absolutely years and I really recommend it to anyone looking for a strong vibrant look.
However, since I started my proper grown-up day job, I’ve toned the red down and now use John Frieda Precision Foam Colour in Deep Cherry Brown in order to give a little bit of a burgundy kick without being too office-offensive. All you DIY hair-dyers out there- once you try foam, you will not go back!
Eyeliner gel finally appeared on the commercial market, meaning that I no longer had to fork out for Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner. My Boots favourite this year was the Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner - it glides on smoothly and is an intense sooty black which stays true to its colour, not like some brands which look dark but come out almost grey! It comes with the perfect brush (full sized!) and is currently on a buy one get one half price at Boots, holllaaaa. My tip is to keep the brush clean otherwise it hardens - easily prevented by swiping it on cotton wool soaked with makeup remover..
Another huge hit amongst my pals was hair oil, but I’m still deciding on my favourite. Argan? Morrocan? Jojoba? To be honest, I find hair oil quite tricky to apply evenly. I much prefer a spray-type product otherwise I end up with heavy greasy patches! Lanky hair, oooh.
There are some great repair-type products out there that use oils to some extent within their formulas but are easier to apply - such as Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-In Conditioner which I use as a nourishing spray before blow-drying.
Finally - my favourite. This year I discovered the wonder of eyelash fibres. Little pots of fibres that coat your lashtips and make them look supremely longer than they are!
After wearing false eyelashes every time I went out-out, I started doing my own individual eyelash extensions. This finicky process took their toll on boh my patience and my eyelashes, needless to say I only have extensions for special occasions like holidays now.
There's far too much to talk about in this one post, soI will be doing a whole blog post on this next year. For now, rest assured that you dont have to splash out £35 on the ModelCo lash fibres - obviously, I have found a cheaper and better subtitute....
Speaking of Value, my big discoveries this year have been Cashback websites , rewarding credit cards (post coming soon) and the joy of signing up to the Pizza Express newsletter who keep offering me great excuses to eat more glorious doughballs!
Final Course
No more blog talk now- my family are on their way to bring in the New Year and I have foolishly agreed to put on a 5 course FEAST. Apologies in advance to my family for my cooking. I think lots of alcohol wil be needed by all....
Have a truly Happy New Year! xXXXx
