Whether you like it or not, Christmas is coming. All the TV adverts are out, it's hats and gloves weather - I've even got a tree and negotiated with Mr FV the earliest date I can put it up (29 November - but I'd have it up now if it were up to me!)

VIDEO: Forget Beauty Boxes, Make Your Own Personalised Beauty Hamper!
It's been a quiet week on the blog given that I spent three days last week at a glorious hen party for my old housemate. Like most bloggers who have full-time jobs, the weekend is the key time for writing posts and taking photos in good light. However this weekend I spent most of it flying around with the other hens, or curled up under a rock feeling the consequences of cocktails the night before...
There may not have been blogging time but there was plenty of beauty time!! The brides friends from abroad were desperate to stock up on cheaper beauty buys from Boots and I graciously (with manic excitement) volunteered to be their cosmetic collecting companion!

NEW BEAUTY BUYS! My Boots Makeup Haul!
I've never been much of a perfume purchaser - I had the same perfume for about 4 years (Benefit Maybe Baby) but it got discontinued so I've started to experiment with scents and fragrance. (See my latest post on A New Way To Pick Fragrance!)
The thing is, sometimes the commercial fragrances out there just don't offer the scent you want. Too artificial, too samey, too blahh. On top of that, the specialist fragrance houses out there offer great unique scents.... but at sky high prices, boooo.
Today's post is a little introduction to a great fragrance brand called The Library Of Fragrance - and boy-oh-boy, to quote Chandler, could that BE any more self-explanatory?
The Library Of Fragrance is a vast collection of individual and unique smells, including crowd-pleasers like Baby Powder and Fresh Laundry in addition to intriguing and original scents like Grass, Playdoh and Tomato.....

Today's nail is one of my favourite shades. A beautiful, dreamy yet tropical turquoise, this has got 'GET YER TAN ON!' written all over it.
It's a well known fact that turquoise goes incredibly well with a tan. It's like makeup maths, turquoise + bronze = GOOD every time. Adding a bit of punchy colour to any outfit, turquoise is the perfect colour to add both elegance and an edge.
If you haven't already guessed - I love this shade. But it really belongs only to summer and hot hazy days under the shade of a palm tree (or the tree in your garden).
Therefore I've not really had a chance to crack out this colour until recently but boy oh boy - it's back and it's back on my fingers! I am literally JOY SQUARED right now.
Okay, enough of the maths jokes (what did you expect from an beauty blogging accoutant?!) - let's move swiiiiiftly on to today's product..
Voila! It's the No7 Gel Look Shine Nail Colour in Peacock Green. (aka Turquoise, obvs)
I tell you now, it's no 'ordinary' nail polish.

Everyone has a weakness and when it comes to my weakness, all I see is blue circles.... Blue circles, white writing - yes my friends, I'm talking about the siren call of a shop named Boots.
I don't know what it is but I can't go to Boots without buying more than I intended to. Even if it's boring crap like mouthwash (dull yet ESSENTIAL) , I always end up spending more than I planned! Please tell me this happens to you too?! Ho wait, perhaps you have an inkling of self control.
Given my weakness, imagine how happy I am when it comes to special offers and the latest 3 for 2 mix and match cosmetics is one of my all-time favourites! Give me ALL the cosmetics, gimme gimme gimmeee.
So, what did I get?? Recognise any of these?

First up is the new No7 Lash Impact mascara - how cool is the packaging??! Reminds me a bit of Christmas though - or Dorothy shoes... How good is it on your lashes though?

Last week, I had a little trip into SUMMER! In conjunction with the recent sunshine, Boots were showcasing some of their summer items in a gorgeous sun-filled space in Central London. Lahvely.
As soon as I walked in, I felt like I was on holiday! Trying on sunglasses, the smell of suncream in the air, what bliss! Isn't sun-cream just the best scent ever?!? Its right up there with baby powder and fresh laundry for me.
Anyway, summer scents aside, here's my lowdown on the top tips and top products to keep you looking fabulous this summer.

The two staples of Summer are SUN and SUN PROTECTION. I'm going to start with the more boring one, sun protection and then, my favourite - summer cosmetics to match your tan!

The Day I Went To Boots Camp: Boots Summer Shop
Today’s post starts with a big sigh. A really big sigh. Why? I am imminently broaching that time in my life where my skin cell regeneration rate starts to head the other way. Yes, my friends, I have boarded that ship – and it's destination? Aging. Boo!
As I creep further and further towards 30, the days of being excited for birthdays are no more. Okay, I’m practically, basically, compleetely lying here - I will forever love birthdays because it means I get presents and lots of cake but you can see where my dramatic feeling-sorry-for-myself monologue is going right? Aging is inevitable.
However, it’s not over until it’s over - I’m a fighter. Obviously fighting in spirit, not physically (Face Value Fight Club any one??) and I’ve been meaning to step up my skincare routine for a while now.
Although I already follow the holy trinity of 'cleanse, tone, moisturise', the steps for moisturising past the age of 25 becomes “Serum & Moisturiser” and then “Serum & Moisturiser” becomes “Serum & Face Cream & Eye Cream”. Yup, that’s right – my new routine is now “Wash, Tone, Serum, Eye Cream, Face Cream” (and when I’m feeling like I could spend EVEN more time on my face, I sometimes throw “Pre-Cleanse” into the mix! Ker-azy.)
I’ve gone from three-step to six step!! Oh lord, growing up is hard work.
Thankfully, in honour of my next birthday coming up, Boots have sent me over a full Anti-Aging skincare set by Nivea. Can I get a hoo-ray?
This is the new Nivea Cellular Anti-Age range! There’s two moisturisers, a serum and an eye cream – it’s always good to use products from the same range as they are meant to complement and boost each other. Let’s take a closer look shall we?

Pinch, punch, first day of the month!! (Kick and a flick for being so quick!!) Do you remember doing this at school? I swear there were loads of "clever responses" like that, and they were all very violent thinking about it..
Anyway - can you believe it's March already?! March is when the cobwebs of the New Year have finally blown away. I have now fully recovered from the holiday season, my new healthy living routine is no longer a new year whim and officially a real thing and the time for my 'this-year-I'm-going-to's is pretty much now or never! 2014 is well and truly here.
But what has been brightening my grey days and equally greyer skin since January 1st? This fab CC cream from Seventeen! HIYA.
One of the most frequent questions I get asked is "What's your favourite BB cream" to use? It used to be the Garnier Matte Miracle Skin for Combination/Oily - but then I started using this Seventeen CC Cream and I was completely blown over!!
Let's start from the beginning
I'll be honest, BB creams are neither here nor there for me - not quite as much coverage as a foundation, BB creams are effectively a tinted moisturiser with an SPF. I'm usually an all-or-nothing kinda gal. I wear BB creams on lazy sunday mornings, after a rare trip to the gym and on (even rarer) good skin days.
What's the difference between BB and CC?

It's official. I am head over heels, truly, madly, deeply in love........ with a square box. No, not the TV. No, not a box of Guylian truffles. Those are soooo pre-2014, dear reader. I'm talking about my new blusher by Lancome!
What happened? Well I hit the New Year sales armed with a Boots giftcard (always dangerous) and boy-oh-boy did I luck out or what? I stumbled across this beautiful Lancome Blush in Love blusher at the Lancome counter.
Not only was it beautiful, it was Limited Edition AND half price AND I had a giftcard!! Is there any other better combination?
First things first, not to come across shallow, but I fell in love for good looks... I had to get this Lancome Blush In Love because it is BEAUTIFUL. Seriously stunning. A delicate print of spring roses in a triple-toned palette, the Lancome Blush In Love is designed for a fresh glow - an illuminating blush to wake up tired skin and hide any hint of a hangover...
Let's zoom in...

This year, one of my resolutions is to maintain a strict and non-lazy skincare routine. By non-lazy I mean, stop using cheap face wipes and micellar water Zoe. They're only for late night and drunken cleansing. I should be giving my face a full wash off cleanse at least once every day!
But whyyyyyyy? Face wipes and micellar water (particularly Bioderma) are awesome! They take about two minutes and I don't even have to leave my room! Unfortunately, my skin didn't agree with this one bit and decided to dry out and erupt in protest.
So with a lazy sigh, I stepped up my skincare routine, and stepped up to the sink...
What is this!? This is the cleanser I was using over November and December (with the exclusion of late nights and hungover mornings) - it's the Botanics Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm.
A balm? For the face? Even for oily skin? Apparently for all skin types according the label.
The way that the Botanics Hot Cloth balm works is that it melts into the skin like a face oil. You rub it all over the face to dissolve makeup and then you wash it off. The oil in the balm binds to the oil in your pores so that the grime is washed off with the balm.
Beauty pros and other bloggers have been raving about balms and cleansing oils for a while, so I thought I'd jump on the wagon and give it a go..
So what did I think?

Today, a quick look at one of my favourite lipsticks of 2013. It's the No7 Stay Perfect Lipstick in Gay Geranium.
Alriiiight, hold back your giggles girls! It was launched way, way back in 1935 so you can thank 1930's No7 for the name.
But immaturity aside, this Gay Geranium shade is an absolute classic. It was actually discontinued and brought back due to popular demand - apparently the Queen is a big fan!
Christmas is definitely a time to crack out the colours and shades you wouldn't normally wear in your black-and-grey normal daily life. And this orange No7 lipstick is certainly not one I thought I'd normally wear.
But hey, if it's good enough for The Queen, it's good enough for me!
Let's take a closer look.

This No7 Stay Perfect lipstick is a wonderful, vibrant coral-orange shade. More orange than pink, it's a bright shade which I think suits a lot of skin tones.

The festive adverts are on TV, the department store Christmas windows have been revealed - I know it's only November but I've decided to embrace the fact that Christmas is just around the corner. Hooray!
Obviously you'll know Christmas is here when the Coca Cola advert is on TV but by then Christmas shopping should be in full flow, much like the mulled wine in my house.
So to help you kick off your preparations, I've selected a few frankly awesome gifts from the Boots Christmas range. You know I love presents! Feel free to pass this page onto your chief present buyer and say "JUST GET ME THESE LOVE, THANKS"
So what have we got here then? These are my top presents that I would want - a real mix of essentials and of course, luxuries. You don't want what you actually need at Xmas do you?
Let's take a closer look...

The morning-after-the-night-before is anything but pretty. Late nights and excessive merrymaking can be a challenge on even the most perfect skin and when you're half asleep and not feeling 100%, looking pretty can be.... tricky.
Even normally, sculpting your cheeks these days can be complicated. First you have to apply your colour, and then use highlighter across the cheekbones, and if you've really got some time - a darker blush in the hollows. Like I said, perfect cheeks can be complicated!
But of course, as with most complicated things, it's not long before the human race finds a simpler, easier way to do it and this No7 Instant Radiance Blush is a prime example of our modern evolution. Well done us.
Isn't it gorgeous? This is the Instant Radiance Blush palette from No7 and , believe me, it's more than just a pretty picture.

So if you've read my first ever post, you'll know that I originally started blogging so that I could share my makeup and money and rambles with the masses.
I'm not gonna lie though, there are times when being a blogger has it's perks. One such perk was the honour of attending the Boots 'Give It A Go' event held in London this week...
So how did Give It A Go...go?
