Not to show my age but I've been a big fan of Benefit Cosmetics for over a DECADE. It's a brand that doesn't take itself too seriously and that's exactly what I'm about. They have easy to use, effective makeup in fun and relatable packaging. Today's Benefit product is no exception to the rule.
For me, the cult Benefit beauty products have to be their blusher boxes. From the days of Dandelion, I was a collector (until I realised that keeping them for years was pretty manky in terms of makeup bacteria - but they DO last for ages)
The newest addition to the blusher box collection is the Benefit GALifornia blush, a golden pink powder.
The newest addition to the blusher box collection is the Benefit GALifornia blush, a golden pink powder.
With 7 shades currently available, I did wonder if Benefit could come up with ANOTHER colour in the shade range but it doesn't disappoint. Let's take a closer look....
Infused with the signature GALifornia Dreamin' scent, it smells like pink grapefruit & vanilla. Even the brush has had an upgrade from the regular square shape - the GALifornia brush is rounded, for a softer more diffused application.
The colour itself is similar to Benefit Cosmetics Coralista blush, but slightly pinker & more glowy. Both would look fab in the summer with a tan. BRING ON THE SUN.
I first discovered the GALifornia blush backstage at Mark Fast where Lisa Potter-Dixon, head makeup artist for Benefit showed me how she created the catwalk look.
If you can't be bothered to watch the interview, here's a spoiler - SHE USED BLUSH ON THE EYES. Yes, coral blush on the eyes!
For me, pink eyes just says conjunctivitis, or pink-eye right? Well I decided to have a go at recreating the makeup look myself, in the comfort of my bedroom (just in case it didn't work out) and the results were surprising!
GALifornia blusher on the eyelids and blue They're Real mascara - who'd thought it would be so wearable?!
|What did I learn? Well, blue mascara is just 👌🏻 - especially layered on the tips, over black mascara.
Also, coral eyes are surprisingly wearable - ever since I tried red eye makeup at Halloween, I've been more interested in trying this colour. Definitely will be seeing more of me in this soon!
What do YOU think? Pretty pink eyes, or still just pink-eye? Tweet me your thoughts @FaceValueBlog or send me a comment on Facebook!

I'm so excited about this post!! First and foremost - it's about Benefit makeup and secondly, it's about a LOT of Benefit makeup.
The Benefit blushers have been cult collectables for me ever since the first box of Dandelion landed in my lap aged 14. However, at £24 a pop, it's not cheap to collect them all.
Today's product solves that exact "i want them all, don't make me choose one" problem. It's the Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot xmas special! Finally, 6 of their best selling blushers have all moved in under the same roof and quite literally - because the tin is a cute little house!!

With the sun very slowly making it’s way out, it’s time to start thinking about summer beauty essentials and bringing out the products which get pushed to the back of cabinet over winter - the most obvious of which begins with a B…and ends with RONZER.
Yes yes, clever you for guessing, I’m talking about that ultimate shimmery hit of tan which indicates lots of time spent outdoors, doing something extravagantly healthy like volleyball or hiking in the country, or, if you’re less actively-inclined (like me), your tan is obviously gained by stylishly lazing on a nearby coast.
I actually tan quite evenly and easily – the only ever time I had sunburn, I genuinely thought that I’d just suffered an allergic reaction to something!! I kid you not.
Therefore, I’ve only really used matt bronzers before - y'know, for contouring and adding a bit of brahhn and colour to my otherwise uninteresting skin. However, the last winter has really been, what I like to call, an epiphany of glow! I’ve gone from a matte-finish fanatic to a dewy skin seeker. AND, if that wasn’t enough of a change – my promotion last year also means that I can finally treat myself to the occasional high end beauty product! Nice one.

With me so far? Cheap, matte bronzers 2013, fancy, glowy bronzers 2014! I feel like a beautiful bronzed butterfly emerging from the ashes. But what’s the product that I’ve gone for this time?
It’s only the infamous Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick (complete with mini Bobbi Brown Face Blender Brush) HIYA.
And the good news is.... I'M GIVING ONE AWAY TOO!

MIZSPA GIVEAWAY! Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick
For the grand occasion that is PAY-DAY, I have been looking to splash out on some expensive, fine powder to accompany my pay day night out-out.. No, no City-boy references here, I'm clearly talking about the high-inducing addiction which is a NARS Blush.
But which shade? I had set my mind on the classic Orgasm blush- a dusky pink powder shot through with gold shimmer. Yes, come March 31st, I was going to buy it and cherish it forever! That is, until last weekend, when my plans changed..
I was shopping in Superdrug, buying nothing exciting, cotton pads, toner and the like. (seriously, I get through so much cotton, it's ridiculous) Naturally, like a moth to the beautiful, beautiful flame, I was drawn towards the makeup stands.
Browsing the Sleek stand, I was shocked when I saw the Orgasm blush staring right back at me. Oh yes, dear Face Value Friends. I've think I've found a dupe...
This is the Sleek Blush By 3 Palette in Lace. A beautiful, slimline compact with three finely milled blushes inside, these coral-pink shades are as beautiful on the skin as they are on the pan. Really high intensity colors, and a good mix of shimmer and matte shades.

When it comes to my everyday makeup face, I’m loving the dewy, glowing look these days. Namely because the evils of winter weather have dulled my skin and also because glowing skin makes me look a lot healthier outside than my normal McDonalds & mojitos diet would suggest.. (seriously though, LOVE a late night Mcdonalds after a couple of mojitos)
So, let’s not beat about the b(l)ush – here it is!
The elf Cosmetics Cream Blush and Bronzer. I know Im totally cheating because really, it’s two products into one case, but hey – IT’S TWO PRODUCTS in ONE CASE – what could be bad about that?!
Yes, yes, I know I've committed the cardinal blogging sin and taken pictures after it's been used but hey - I'm only human. I rush to use new products straight away, and deal with consequences later. Take THAT blogging etiquette!
My Initial thoughts?

Blush & Glow: E.l.f Contouring Blush & Bronzing Cream in St Lucia
I was on a train back from Bath the other day (big up to Bath) and I spied the Guerlain Meteorites Bubbles in Look magazine. Those cute peachy colours, that little dome! I was in love!
As my heart started that familiar quickening which comes with new beauty buys I realised that these reminded me a lot of the Maybelline Dream Bouncy blushes which I picked up on hols in New York.
The Maybelline Bouncy Blush looks similar except it was about a third of the price. Get in! I feel so ahead of the curve! (This almost NEVER happens!)
What is a Bouncy blush?!
These little domes of colour can be smudged or stippled onto cheeks for a flush of creamy colour without looking too dewy.
A perfect mix between cream and powder blush, this gel formula really melts into the skin for a natural looking blush.
And they're SQUIDGY! *poke*

It's official. I am head over heels, truly, madly, deeply in love........ with a square box. No, not the TV. No, not a box of Guylian truffles. Those are soooo pre-2014, dear reader. I'm talking about my new blusher by Lancome!
What happened? Well I hit the New Year sales armed with a Boots giftcard (always dangerous) and boy-oh-boy did I luck out or what? I stumbled across this beautiful Lancome Blush in Love blusher at the Lancome counter.
Not only was it beautiful, it was Limited Edition AND half price AND I had a giftcard!! Is there any other better combination?
First things first, not to come across shallow, but I fell in love for good looks... I had to get this Lancome Blush In Love because it is BEAUTIFUL. Seriously stunning. A delicate print of spring roses in a triple-toned palette, the Lancome Blush In Love is designed for a fresh glow - an illuminating blush to wake up tired skin and hide any hint of a hangover...
Let's zoom in...

Honey, I'M HOME!
I'm fresh back from New York and 'so totes' in the mood for Christmas. A bit of snow and I'm suddenly all festive!! Yes, it snowed in the Big Apple and yes, I did everything on my cliched list of "things to do in New York" - You can tell by my increased use of exclamation marks (as if I could use any more) that I'm having an awesome holiday season so far and I HOPE YOU ARE TOO!
But before I get too excited and start shouting about Christmas, back to the topic at hand. Definitely a jam-packed but wonderful first-time-in-New-York - here's a little snapshot of what I got up to...
What on earth am I doing? Read on, dear reader, read on!
