NEW BEAUTY LAUNCH ALERT! The latest drop from Sleek Makeup has landed in my lucky lap and I have spent the last few days getting to grips with my new fairground-themed friends.

The Whimsical Wonderland collection is a candy coloured range featuring a new eyeshadow palette, 3 new shades of Lip VIP (Sleek's semi matte lipstick, see the full review and range of Lip VIP swatches here)

I'm normally a neutrals, browns and blacks kinda gal but I do love a pop of colour on lips and cheeks. Sleek Makeup have got three new shades, basically a lilac purple, a juicy red and a coral orange. Coming in a cheek gel and a lipstick, perfect for those who like are matchy-matchy like me!

Contouring is not going away. Whether it's a beauty trend like strobing or something timeless like dewy skin, highlights and shadows will ALWAYS be a much loved beauty technique.

Depending on what you're trying to do, there are a whole host of contour Kardashian style products available but what's best for the every day natural contour look?

New to stores this month is the Sleek Cream Contour Palette. What's new with that you might think? We've seen sculpt and glow palettes before, right? The trick, my friends, is all in the cream formula. OOOOOH CREAM FORMULA - the marmite of makeup. Some people love them, some people hate them

Beauty at Tesco? So I've seen the aisles lined with Rimmel and Maybelline but I confess, it's not the first place I think of going to for my beauty fix. I normally consider Boots as my beauty Mecca.

That was until I tried BD Trade Secrets, Tesco's own beauty range.

Budget Beauty: BD Trade Secrets from Tesco. Was It Any Good?

Fiiinally, with Fashion Week over it's time to get back to beauty business!! One of the perks of winning the Yahoo Lifestyle LFW competition was that I also won a Stila makeup goody bag and boy-oh-boy it was GOOOOD.

Stila kindly asked me beforehand what sort of colours and products I liked - and seriously, this makeup package couldn't be MORE tailored to me if I tried.  It's got brows, it's got eyeliner, it's got cream blush, orange lips and highlighter. Oh yeah, AND A PALETTE. *explodes with joy*

HAUL: My STILA makeup goodies!!

Hola Face Value friends! Today's makeup look is a rose gold inspired face. Think burnt copper, crushed gemstones, glints of champagne reflected by candlelight - today's makeup look is Summer's answer to smokey eyes and is perfect for a dinner date or a cheeky stopover at a chic wine bar.

Rose gold can be flattering on so many skintones and it's not just for your cheeks or lips. I never really wear colour on my eyes but rose gold is so subtle - it's almost like taupe and it really works!

I'll be honest, when I first tried it, I just looked massively boooooozed (thanks, asian drinking genes!) but with the right balance of smoke and definition ie superfine eyeliner and a coat of fluttery mascara, it's really very, very easy.

Today, I've gone for rose-tinted eyeshadow, with a flush of rose on the cheeks, and a shimmery champagne rose gold on the lips.

And the real beauty is ...I've only used 2 products to achieve it!

What did I use?

As a self-confessed flat face, I'm a huge fan of contouring and highlighting. I've reviewed lots of blushers and bronzers which I use for the contouring part and now, it's time for the bright side!

When it comes to highlighters, there are so many types available it's hard to decide. Cream highlighters, powder highlighters - gold toned, pink toned - where do we begin? Do we need so many? Why does it come in so many colours?

Never fear my pretties, I'm here to lay it allllll down. If you are new to the world of highlighting - check out my MUA powder highlighter review  and my Where To Apply Touche Eclat for my attempt to draw diagrams...!

But if you're a seasoned highlighting pro, you know as well as I do that you want, desire and NEED the whole range of highlighters in your arsenal. Are you missing anything?

Here's my pick of the bunch.

Highlighter Highlights: Cream vs Powder? Benefit or MUA?

When it comes to my everyday makeup face, I’m loving the dewy, glowing look these days. Namely because the evils of winter weather have dulled my skin and also because glowing skin makes me look a lot healthier outside than my normal McDonalds & mojitos diet would suggest.. (seriously though, LOVE a late night Mcdonalds after a couple of mojitos)

Enter the world of cream blush. I’ve already been raving about how natural and healthy cream blush makes you look when I reviewed the Maybelline Dream Bouncy blushers. Given that they were only available in the US, I was asked for my thoughts on a UK cream blush.

So, let’s not beat about the b(l)ush – here it is!

The elf Cosmetics Cream Blush and Bronzer. I know Im totally cheating because really, it’s two products into one case, but hey – IT’S TWO PRODUCTS in ONE CASE – what could be bad about that?!

Yes, yes, I know I've committed the cardinal blogging sin and taken pictures after it's been used but hey - I'm only human. I rush to use new products straight away, and deal with consequences later. Take THAT blogging etiquette!

My Initial thoughts?

Blush & Glow: E.l.f Contouring Blush & Bronzing Cream in St Lucia

I was on a train back from Bath the other day (big up to Bath) and I spied the Guerlain Meteorites Bubbles in Look magazine. Those cute peachy colours, that little dome! I was in love!

As my heart started that familiar quickening which comes with new beauty buys I realised that these reminded me a lot of the Maybelline Dream Bouncy blushes which I picked up on hols in New York.

The Maybelline Bouncy Blush looks similar except it was about a third of the price. Get in! I feel so ahead of the curve! (This almost NEVER happens!)

What is a Bouncy blush?!

These little domes of colour can be smudged or stippled onto cheeks for a flush of creamy colour without looking too dewy.

A perfect mix between cream and powder blush, this gel formula really melts into the skin for a natural looking blush.

And they're SQUIDGY! *poke*

HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!!

So it's Christmas morning and you want to race downstairs to crack open the Bucks Fizz, start ripping open presents and hug everyone/everything.

But wait. If it's anything like my household, there's going to be cameras and Instagramming and all sorts of need-to-capture-this-moment-forever stuff. And with any sort of photo, your face needs to be prepared!

But you haven't got all morning have you? It's CHRISTMAS after all. But you need to save some face before you head into the fray - what should you do?

The answer is simple - it's all about the basics. For that dahling-I-just-rolled-out-of-bed-like-this look you need these three things:

1) Definition of your eyes and brows
2) Clear skin
3) Glowing cheeks

And you can do this in ten minutes! How? Here's the detail...

Christmas Morning FOTD - My "I just woke up like this" makeup look

For years and years I've been a powder blusher girl through and through but I've recently started getting back into cream blush.... woweee times they are a changing!

Cream blush gives a much more natural finish on the cheeks - it's dewy and glowy and provides a hit of colour without looking too 'made up'

Easier to blend than powder, cream blush is also ideal for the cold, dry conditions that Winter/Spring brings by keeping your cheeks looking soft and glowing.

Oh, and it also makes my cheeks feel like velvet. And I liiiiike velvet.

Today I'm trying out Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blush - a little pot of peachy air-whipped goodness.
